Home schooling is definitely popular, however it is the decision made by more and more families in recent times. There are many reasons why, one is that the campus violence which keep happening. Also more resources open to families, and there are far more planned events for home schooled pupils, too. Have you looked at joining local home-schooling affairs!?

There are plenty of social gatherings, a number of them sporting events. You may find affairs held where home schooled students group with one another, and then there are events where said scholars and their families get meet with the community. Just because a pupil is homeschooled does not mean that he/she is obviously gonna be in the home during school hours either.

There are actually getawasys and other scholastic happenings which pupils will love. Also, there is the opportunity for being out in public, maybe studying in the library or outdoors in the park. Homeschooled pupils can even get together for classes and study groups. There are many freedoms to home schooling, including the truth that scholars can learn anywhere, not only behind the closed doors of any public school.

Tutors give the best coaching and they should be accredited. Moms and dads do not have to be certified to be able to home-school their kids. That may be a disadvantage to home schooling. You will see the good and bad. Having been an educator, I choose to keep things how they are, but you can see good things about homeschooling.

It is just a little depressing that the schools are so messed up at the moment regarding safety and the way in which they may be perceived. All of us have fond memories of being in school. A person I know and regard wants as a professor. I was once a professor as I said. And I’ve been aware of several great teachers. Homeschooling is a choice, nevertheless the causes of its increased approval are mostly depended on public schools being under so much scrutiny.

There needs to be something done to bring back the notion that moms and dads can entrust their children to public schools. We should do a better job. You will find a find a detach somewhere, and truthfully, it’s not actually near being pretty much the schools themselves. It’s a common crisis, and in case you may ask me, a faith based issue, as is everything.

Nothwithstanding, each house and family situation is unique, and home schooling is a very lovely option. Although I am an advocate for reestablishing public schools with their earlier glory, I’m also one who identifies home-schooling is fantastic in the right sort of condition. Everyhthing needs to be set up, plus all social aspects of schooling and attending events in the region. Special Tracks

We have several “tracks” which address very specific interests of homeschooling families or families who are considering homeschooling.

Homeschool 101

For those new to homeschooling and those considering homeschooling, we offer a Homeschool 101 track sponsored by Sonlight®. Janice Campbell, founder of Everyday Education, is leading this special track. She will address how to create a family-centered learning lifestyle, what must be taught, how to evaluate curriculum, how to choose books, mentors, and models to teach from pre-K through high school, and how to make learning fun and more memorable, as well as addressing concerns about record-keeping and transcripts. She will offer suggestions to help you begin your journey and may just get you off the fence and into homeschooling, if you are currently undecided.

Teen Track

Is your teen prepared to answer when their faith is questioned? Our Real Faith for the Real World teen track, sponsored by Cedarville University, helps teens learn how to defend their faith in today’s world. John Stonestreet, Mark Mittelberg, Brett Kunkle, and Dr. Jay Wile will provide your teens with a wealth of information on how to address the tough issues they are faced with in their peer groups or when their faith is questioned. The teen track prepares teens for those upcoming college years.

Special Needs

Our Special Needs track will offer encouragement in teaching special needs students. Presentations are led by experts in their field. They will address tips and techniques of teaching those students who are gifted or those who struggle with dyslexia, autism, or ADHD.

Parenting

As we all know, homeschooling can be difficult at times. Our Parenting track is “one of a kind” and is geared toward eliminating some of the most difficult hurdles parents face while homeschooling their children! Kirk Martin and his son, Casey Martin, provide strategies designed to help “eliminate the power struggles, yelling, and arguing that stress you out.” Kirk and Casey Martin’s sessions have been described as “laugh-out loud funny, practical, and life-changing.”

Workshop Sessions

A full speaking and event schedule will be posted approximately 60 days prior to each of the 2016 Great Homeschool Conventions. The expanded schedule will include the speakers’ bios, workshop titles, and a short description of each session. You will be able to review the schedule prior to each event in order to plan out the sessions you want to hear. If you miss a session, we have that covered: recordings will be available for purchase at the event for those who attend.

Exhibit Hall

Huge exhibit hallAt the Homeschool Event of the Year, you will also have the opportunity to “shop till you drop” in the huge exhibit hall. The exhibit hall is filled with hundreds of booths that offer a great variety of outstanding homeschool curriculum, products, and services. Exhibitors often provide special “convention discounts” with extra savings. As you might imagine, there is nothing quite like being able to examine a particular curriculum in person before purchasing it. Furthermore, the exhibit hall experience almost always leads to new and exciting homeschool resource discoveries, often with an opportunity to also ask questions of one of the people who helped design the material. In addition to curriculum exhibitors, you will have the opportunity to visit with a wide variety of other exhibitors who offer products, services, or materials of interest to homeschooling families and their lifestyles.
